Misty morning

The farmyard was shrouded in a fine mist that lasted until midday. Winter has arrived!

  1. Lovely morning collection! Would I be able to buy the seed pod image off of you as digital file to print? I have some lovely 20X30 of my work that this piece would go so nicely with. Could you tell me a little about he tree. I've never seen anything like it before.

  2. Hello,
The seed pod is the gum nut of the Silver Princess Eucalyptus (eucalyptus caesia)- a beautiful tree native to Western Australia. It's a smallish tree with a weeping habit, and its branches are covered in a white powder which gives a silvery appearance. In winter time spectacular red blossoms with yellow tips appear, and last for a few months (only if the native honeyeaters don't get to them first!) The gum leaf is also beautiful - a greyish green with a red spine.
