Silken beauty

My couch is pretty much choc-a-block with cushions but I'm sure I could squeeze in just a couple more...

These beautiful printed silk cushions were designed by South African artist Gemma Orkin in collaboration with West Elm.  Each vibrant design features wildflowers native to Cape Town, Gemma's home town.

Winter Wattle

The temperature has dropped and the first of the winter wattles have started to flower, although this particular wattle is possibly the most unfriendly of the acacia species due to having rather sharp needle-like leaves. This one won't be making it to my vase on the mantel piece!

The wattle blossom is one of my favourite blooms and always a welcome sight in the darkest of winter days. I am happy to see a sprinkling of wattle blossom designs making an appearance in the marketplace.

This vintage looking bed linen design is from Toast. I am in love with that shade of blue....

Julie Patterson's Cloth textile designs capture the beauty of Australian flora in such a striking manner. This Wattle rug design is the result of a collaboration between Cloth and Designer Rugs.

I bought this Angus and Celeste vase at a Magnolia Square market last year as a present for a friend. It didn't leave my shelf....
