Colour inspiration from the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show

I have well and truly stocked up on spring bulbs after visiting the very busy Flower & Garden Show, now I just need a few spare moments to get them planted into the garden!

This pretty palette of colours might be something to consider for next summer / autumn plantings.

The Yates Garden stand featured an impressive mix of native and exotic plantings. Another great colour palette to consider too....

A beautiful patch of meadow blooms grown from seed.

The 5000 Poppies project

And yet another stunning palette featuring plantings of deep burgundy, berry red, black and creamy white grasses and flowers.

Summer Blues and Pinks

The bees seem to enjoy the blue coloured flowers in the garden most of all. Before the heat kicks in again next week, I have a few blue hued plant purchases to add to the messy mix this weekend!

Love Bed linen?

If you are on the look-out for new bed linen and in need of some inspiration, check out the Cottonbox blog where I will be posting regularly on the latest trends and new releases in children's and adult's bedding designs available from the Cottonbox website. I have my eye on the beautiful Florence Broadhurst collection, but am finding it hard to narrow down my selection to just one design!

Dahlia season

I love this time of year - the long hot summer days have slowly petered out and the garden here has more plants in flower than at any other time of year. While I have only a few varieties of Dahlias, after seeing these beauties today in Bendigo's Rosalind Gardens I might have to order a few more colours and varieties for next year's crop.
