A lovely book - The Miggy Tree

'The Miggy Tree' is a beautiful little story written by Karl Yeomans and illustrated by Anna Walker. Check out more of Anna's lovely watercolour illustrations here. I especially loved the design of the endpapers - a delicate leafy scroll scattered with little birds - very whimsical.

Serenity and Tweet

The 'Serenity' cushion was inspired by children's vintage book illustrations of the 1920's, and is printed in a lovely soft flocking technique. 'Tweet' is a bluebird, just the right size for cuddling.

Painting a sunny day

Here are a few images of the new Hiccups girl's bed linen print 'Melody'. The inspiration for this design came from a trip to Versailles Palace a few years ago. I loved the silk jacquard fabrics and decorative porcelain in Marie Antoinette's drawing room - all perfectly pastel coloured, just like a box of Laduree macaroons. And of course Sofia Coppola's film version of Marie Antoinette is a firm favourite in my DVD collection.

Ada Coverlet and Sham

The 'Ada' quilted coverlet and sham coordinate beautifully with all of the new Hiccups girl's bed linen designs. Delicate flowers and vines have been carefully embroidered in pink - exactly the colour of my Nana Ada's favourite rose.
