Camille Soulayrol and Marie Claire Idees

Marie Claire Idees is one of my favourite magazines - I love spending a few hours on the couch (with a glass of wine of course) soaking in the visual loveliness of its pages. Here are a few beautiful images from the magazine created by French stylist Camille Soulayrol.

Robotics cushion

Robotics is a hi-tech looking polyamide puff print cushion with a vibrant red reverse. Very R2D2!

A little visitor

Here is Lachlan - a recent visitor to the Hiccups showroom. Lachie is the son of Kelly, our Hiccups stylist, and creator of children's wear brand Little Bubble and Tree!

Woof woof!

Which breed of dog is your favourite? I'm a fan of Kelpies, Border Collies, Dachshunds and Airedales, all of which can be found on this new Hiccups bed linen design 'Kennel Club'. I think I ended up painting about 60 different dogs  - hopefully everyone will find their favourite canine friend featured!

Make a wish with the new Hiccups 'Fairy Wishes' embroidered fleece throw.

Birds etc. from Sanderson

More birdie inspiration - this time from Sanderson's Options Collection
'Finches' is a lovely painterly wallpaper and fabric design in a subdued palette of yellow and blue. A little bit Marie Antoinette, a little bit De Gournay, and a lot to admire.

Bonjour butterflies

Favourite artist - Sophie Adde

I first came across Sophie Adde's paintings displayed in Sensitive et fils, a beautiful shop on Rue Francois Miron in the Marais district of Paris.
I admire Sophie's sense of colour - turquoise combined with pinkish reds and subtle greens is one of my favourite colour combinations, and her paintings of peonies and decorative Chinese subject matter are particularly striking.

Sophie's work is also available from the La Marelle website as postcards and assorted stationery items. I picked up a few cards from the Readings bookshop in Port Melbourne.

Simply French, simply lovely!

Little Golden Books - childhood memories

Which 'Little Golden Book' was your favourite? All of the following titles were in my family's bed time story collection, and all of them were dog-eared and very much loved (even surviving a few dunks in the bath!) Now they can be enjoyed by a whole new generation for a very affordable price of AU$3.99. I bought my copies from the Angus and Robertson bookshop.

Lovely clothing from Oilily

Oilily is one of my favourite fashion brands - never failing to disappoint with their unique range of designs for women and children. Here are a few of my favourite picks for little girls from the fabulous 'Summer of Love' Spring Summer 09 collection. Hippy luxe from Holland!
