There is a lot going on outside my window farm wise - all of the tractors are busy spraying paddocks in readiness for sowing the winter crops. Here are a few photos of my version of farming throughout the seasons for a UK bed linen customer!

Love Bed linen?
If you are on the look-out for new bed linen and in need of some inspiration, check out the Cottonbox blog where I will be posting regularly on the latest trends and new releases in children's and adult's bedding designs available from the Cottonbox website. I have my eye on the beautiful Florence Broadhurst collection, but am finding it hard to narrow down my selection to just one design!

From Holland
One of my favourite kid's design blogs is DecoPeques from Spain, and each week they send out a condensed newsletter of highlights from the blog. Today I spotted a few of my textile designs alongside these beautiful beds from Saartje Prum that look as if they belong in a fairy tale. So many Dutch homeware companies manage to combine quirky & kid friendly design down pat!

A box of goodness
The other day my Dad walked into my studio carrying a box bearing my name and address (as I live in a remote rural location the mail is delivered only three times a week and all packages have to be picked up and signed for from the local general store). I couldn't recall ordering anything on-line of late, so this was quite a surprise.
The lovely Mona from Cottonbox had sent me a sample of all of my new designs for Cottonbox Kids.
Herbie and Bonjour the cat were my volunteer but very camera-shy models!
Aviator bed linen by Cottonbox Kids. The watercolour textures of my artwork have been faithfully reproduced on a kid friendly cotton base-cloth.

Secret Garden
And one for the girls! My latest bed linen design for Cottonbox Kids is 'Secret Garden'.
Take a step inside the filigree gates into an enchanted garden filled with beauty.
Proud peacocks show off their stunning plumage beneath a mystical tree bursting with ripe figs and beautiful blossoms. Delicate butterflies flit and flutter around the water colour branches. Girls of all ages will fall in love with this detailed hand painted design in a palette of restful and harmonious spring tones.
The 'Secret Garden' bed linen collection is now available online at www.cottonbox.com.au

'Aviator' bed linen design
Hot off the press (or in this case, printing table) is my design for bed linen,
Bi-planes, monoplanes, jet fighters, cargo planes and bombers all take to the sky for some aeronautical adventures. These magnificent flying machines from the first few decades of the 20th century have been hand drawn and painted in intricate detail - a perfect bed linen design for boys who admire these wonderful early feats of modern aeronautical engineering. Many of these robust aeroplanes can still be seen performing at Air Shows today.
The 'Aviator' design is printed on a lovely 100% cotton, 225 thread count base cloth, and is available in single and double quilt sizing.
Quilt Cover sets, set of 3 wall canvases and cushions are now available from

Heal's Fabric Design
Over on the always inspiring Heal's Reveals blog you can find a little give-away of the newly released V&A Pattern Book 'Heal's', which I blogged about here a wee while ago.
One of the designs featured in the book has recently been re-worked by Heal's into a new bed linen collection. The vividly coloured 'Indian Summer' pattern was designed by Jyoti Bhomik for Heal's in 1966, and has now been re-worked with intricate embroidery on a fresh white cotton ground. I love the eye-catching colour combination of turquoise, lime, orange and hot pink.
This is the original fabric design for Heal's by Jyoti Bhomik, spotted on the wonderful design blog Fabulous Vintage.
Pictured above are the updated versions of Jyoti Bhomik's design for Heal's, re-coloured for a contemporary audience.
And here is the retro inspired bed linen design embroidered onto crisp white cotton.

An artist's home in the south of France
I love the eclectic mix of patterned fabrics, tiles and wallpaper and the bright pops of colour found throughout the family home and studio of artist Myriam Balay Devidalin in Nimes, France.
A screen is covered in an Atelier LZC textile design, whilst the bed linens were sewn by Myriam from her collection of vintage fabrics.
Layers of wallpaper were stripped away to reveal the original rendering of the house, built in 1835.
The vintage Scandinavian chairs are covered in printed fabrics by French design studio Robert Le Heros.
11 Year old Alix's bedroom is decorated with a classic Osborne and Little wallpaper design.
A length of Deborah Bowness wallpaper sits perfectly in the library.
Moroccan tiles in warm orange hues and a beautiful hand woven curtain create a peaceful environment in the bathroom.

The gently faded beauty of Kantha cloths
I have spent the last few hours gazing at these beautiful Kantha cloth images from the Sha D'Lei range now on sale at One King's Lane. The colour combinations are totally unexpected to my Western eye, yet there is something very harmonious about every single piece.
I love this palette of mint, navy, lilac and coffee brown.
Perfect for a little girl's bedroom.
Red, pink and jade green - a favourite colour combo!
A bold stripe reminiscent of 1930's beach umbrellas, lovingly teamed with a vibrant paisley.
Perfect colours for a dreamy bedroom.
A beautiful floral design.
A bold mix of dark and light patterns and colour.
This exquisite collection of one-of-a-kind hand-stitched Kantha cloths sourced from India and Bangladesh are on sale at One King's Lane until Monday 21st November. Hmmm... would love to visit India again one day......
