A favourite photographer - Sussie Bell

I have previously posted about UK based Sussie Bell's charming images before - but there is so much to love about her interior photography....
This one especially!

A visit to the Australian Gardens

I had a lovely day yesterday checking out the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Cranbourne , just south of Melbourne - a great place to get inspired for a new season of botanical painting and textile design. So many weird and wonderful species - its going to be hard to choose a subject matter. I definitely won't be tackling the banksia just yet....

Hiccups in Junior Magazine

A few months late... but last night at the newsagents I was happy to spot the Hiccups Russian Doll applique throw making an appearance in the March 2010 edition of Junior Magazine !

Vintage fabric booty from the weekend

Most of these c.1970s dress fabrics were designed and manufactured in Japan. I love those sweet birds on navy (of course!).

Mixing colours

The first stage of designing the next Hiccups collection (and my favourite part) is choosing the colour palette for the new designs. I always start with the pink tones - a must for the Hiccups girls designs. There is no escape from pink!

Hiccups in Indonesia

The Hiccups boutique in Jakarta's Plaza Indonesia shopping centre recently hosted a bedroom decor competition and a face-painting afternoon. Looks like a fun time was had by all!

The Hiccups boutique is situated at Miniapolis , Level 3, Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. The next Hiccups boutique event will be a Hiccups theme drawing competition, held 22-23rd of May 2010, between 2 and 4pm. Thanks to Fenny for sending these great pics!

Flowers to make you smile

I came across these cheery 'Favourite Flowers' cards by Alice Palace today at Readings bookshop in Port Melbourne. I love the pansy - which just happens to be my botanical drawing class subject matter for tonight. Unfortunately my illustration wont look anywhere near as fun as this!
