My favourite thing about buying vintage items is the little story inherited with the product. These lovely linen tea towels (from a second-hand store between Colac and Warrnambool) were commonly embroidered in the 1940's by young secondary school girls in 'home economics' class. They are in excellent condition so most likely were sitting in someone's kitchen drawer for at least 50 years, and I'm sure they will be in use by me for another 50!
