Gone Fishing!

A school of colourful applique and embroidered fish swim in the deep blue sea. They swim up to tease poor old Peter the Pelican sitting in his red fishing boat. 

And here is Peter resting on an actual pelican nest (found on an early morning beach walk near Sorrento), with a few fishy friends.

'Gone Fishing' will be arriving into Australian stores this week!

The Canberra Weekly

A visit to Ham House

A big thank you goes out to Marisa for recommending a visit to the National Trust owned Ham House, an easy 20 minute walk from the glorious Petersham Nursery, south west of London. London based Marisa recently completed three months of work experience at the Linen House design studio, helping the design team with textile design artwork and photography shoots, and giving her top-tips for visiting  some rather lovely destinations in London. ( I love the lettuce patch in the third last photo - so very Beatrix Potter-ish!)

Breezy Stripe for boys

Many shades of blues and greens, ranging from aqua to navy and from lime to emerald are separated by crisp white seersucker stripes, highlighted with a touch of red and orange. The happy colours found on the Hiccups Breezy Stripe design will brighten up a boy's bedroom (and would look rather nice at a holiday house down by the sea!).

Breezy stripe for girls

Breezy Stripe is a new release from the Hiccups Spring Summer 2010/11 collection!

Gorgeous stripes of pink, orange, spearmint, purple, sky blue and lime are interspersed with rows of crisp white seersucker weave. 

Our new Cubby House has arrived!

This season we are pleased to introduce a new item to the Hiccups collections - an easy to assemble Cubby House.

The four panels are gathered around the top of your table with a single drawstring, and three cross ties and one length tie hold the cubby house securely in place. The drawstrings are generous in length, so various sized tables (including round ones) can form the frame of the cubby house.

Our design for girls features applique flowers, butterflies and bees in a bright and cheerful colour palette.

And here is our Cubby House for little boys - it features a collection of critters and bugs.

A very English nursery

After a few days of trekking around the busy streets of London, I headed down to the Petersham Nurseries for some fresh (almost) country air. What a wonderful collection of English blooms! I am now adding red and peach coloured dahlias to my spring planting list....

A breezy stripe

The new Hiccups cotton yarn dye stripe for boys has been appearing in a few catalogues of late. This image of 'Breezy Stripe' is from the August Snooze catalogue.

Wandering around Gamla Stan

I loved wandering around the beautiful lanes of Stockholm's Gamla Stan district.
