After a long wait the irises are finally in bloom. Unfortunately the fancier breeds of iris only flower for a couple of days before withering away - a very short-lived kind of beauty!
Those irises are stunning. I forget how beautiful they are. I used to paint them loads of times when I was working in the UK - only because they were easy and quick to paint LOL! Especially when you had to produce 1 design a day in full repeat.
They are growing up in Colbo - a local family breed them and have over 200 varieties. Dad has about 10 varieties (more to come) growing and they look pretty amazing. Kind of addictive!
